This Canada Day, the Township of Uxbridge presented Citizen of Distinction Awards to front-line staff who worked in local care facilities where COVID-19 outbreaks occurred. The Township recognized three COVID-19 outbreak locations in the Township, Douglas Crossing Retirement Community, ReachView Village and the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, for their efforts to contain and manage the virus.

Select Township Facilities Reopen For Use

Outdoor facilities in the Township of Uxbridge have begun to reopen as the Province of Ontario continues to lift restrictions designed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. The Provincial order prevents gatherings of groups of more than 10 people on Municipal property. Team sports and games (formal or informal) are prohibited at this time.

Township of Uxbridge Takes Additional Cost-Cutting Measures

Council, in a Special Council meeting on June 26th, approved several cost-cutting measures recommended by staff. These cost cutting measures will help the Township offset revenue reductions and losses due to COVID-19.

The estimated financial operating impact from COVID-19 for the Township was a reduction/loss of $1,647,500 in revenues. Measures taken to date to cut costs have reduced operating expenses by $1,577,500, leaving the Township with an estimated budget deficit of $70,000. Additional...

Uxbridge is now issuing Marriage Licences and performing Civil Ceremonies!

Purchase your marriage licence at the Clerk’s Counter of the Town offices located at 51 Toronto Street S. in Uxbridge. No appointment is necessary, simply visit us any weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and enter via the main front entrance. Wedding ceremonies are available outdoors (weather permitting) or within Council Chambers. Licences cost $125, while ceremonies cost $275+HST.
